Keep Camano Island Beautiful: Clean, Green, and Help Our Kids!

I mentioned this event last week but here’s some more info:

Camano Island, as you well know, has some of the most beautiful landscapes in the Pacific Northwest, if not the country!  We pride ourselves in our community here, so the beauty isn’t just in the scenery but in the people, as well.

On Friday, June 10, 2011, from 12:00pm – 5:00pm, Windermere Real Estate’s annual Community Service Day will be held in the Haggen parking lot.  They are sponsoring a spring cleaning event this year.   Windermere started their Community Service Day project in 1984, giving employees the chance to reach out and help the communities that have provided their business a home.  Many other real estate companies across the country have now picked up Windermere’s model.

This year, it’s time to clean out your garage.  If you have old computers and electronics gathering dust in your garage, personal documents that are too sensitive to go into the recycling bin, or just a dirty car, you won’t want to miss this event.  Computers and electronics brought will be donated to the PCRecycle Truck, and you can watch sensitive documents be destroyed by the fine people at Shredit.  A car wash will be staffed by Windermere to make your vehicle shine.  After all the excitement, you might be feeling a bit puckish, so be sure to pick up your complimentary hot dog served up by Island Dogs.

In addition to doing your part to help the environment, you can also make a donation to help local youth.  All donations received will be going toward the new building fund for the Davis Place Teen Center in Stanwood, which is part of the Stanwood-Camano Community Center.  De-clutter your home and help local youth all in one stop!

Windermere’s Community Service Day is Friday, June 10, in the Haggen parking lot, 26603 72nd Avenue NW  Stanwood.

Thanks for the great site Jan, Am thinking of moving to Camano and you gave me some good information. What is it like to live here — I am divorced and moving with my six dogs! Want to garden and enjoy the ocean.
Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Lulu
